Speakers: Jan Halpin & Julie Iacobelli, Co-Founders, c3 Strategists

A strong, engaged, and well-managed board of directors is a foundational principle of all nonprofit organizations and a common thread in all c3 Strategists consulting services.  Both speakers have extensive experience in providing consulting services in the areas of planning, organizational development, and strategic and managed growth. Jan's areas of expertise include fundraising, campaign planning and management, and volunteer leadership development. Julie has experience in leading, directing and transforming organizations through sound business practices and by developing and utilizing staff and volunteers

Speaker: Cheri Conquest Hull, Conquest Consulting, LLC

Associations must have clarity to know why their members join and stay in order to continue to be relevant. It is an ever-evolving reality, influence by a variety of role-players. Cheri has a background encompassing nearly 25 years of work in executive management of associations, including having associations as clients.  She achieved the ASAE Best Non-dues Revenue award for a program she developed for the Indiana Manufacturers Association that ultimately went national. Cheri’s work today includes leadership training, executive coaching, strategic planning, and helping develop better communication among all to have the internal culture you need and want. 

Speaker: Wendy McClellan, Structure for Success

Knowing the culture of your association, communicating effectively, and creating expectations all contribute to developing the ideal volunteer staff. Wendy is a Kolbe Certified Consultant, founder of Structure for Success – an HR Consulting firm, and she is an instructor at ASU’s Lodestar Center. She believes strong relationships and effective communication are the keys to success, and regularly speaks on leadership, communication, personal empowerment, and human resource issues. In the past five years Wendy has been the Vice President of the Women’s Enterprise Foundation (WEF), the Secretary of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), a co-founder of the WOWOB (Women Owned, Women Operated Business) movement, and the Executive Director of the networking group WOAMTEC (Women on a Mission to Earn Commission). Wendy understands the important role that volunteers play in associations.

Speaker: Tim Eigo, Arizona Attorney Magazine

Genuine communication can convey the culture of an organization, provide variety within a coherent brand, and speak to audiences in different voices. Tim has been finding ways to tell stories for years in multiple professions, both in law practice and more responsible endeavors. He edits Arizona Attorney Magazine, the monthly magazine of the State Bar of Arizona, and manages and writes social-media content. Prior to his legal practice days, he edited and wrote at a variety of publications, including the Orange County (Calif.) Business Journal. Tim always agreed it was important to communicate with people.
