September 15, 2017 - AGENDA

9:00am - 9:30am Registration/Visit Exhibits/Full Breakfast

9:30am - 9:45am Welcome/Introductions

9:45am - 11:00am Session 1 - Tim Eigo - Creating Engaging Presentations

As association professionals, a lot of what we do comes down to how we engage with people, communicate and get our vision across. When you are asked to create a presentation to colleagues or members, your presentation style and visuals need to be spot on. We’ll talk about how to get your presentation just right, and how to communicate clearly and concisely. There will be no math, but there may be haikus.

When Tim Eigo is not thinking about ways to present better and to tell legal stories through GIFs, he edits Arizona Attorney, the monthly magazine of the State Bar of Arizona. He also manages and writes more social-media content than is good for anyone, and he writes a blog (remember blogs?) and misses Vine. Before that, he edited and wrote at a variety of publications, including the Orange County (Calif.) Business Journal. He was an English major back when people did that, and earned a law degree back when people did that. He has practiced law in California, but he’s been told he’s nice. He’s opinionated, except on United Airlines, where he has learned to be very, very compliant. “Just a water, please.”

11:00am - 11:15am

11:15am -12:30pm Session 2 - Carolyn Sechler, CPA, CGMA - A Holistic Approach to Planning/Budgeting for Special Events

The rare individual loves the budgeting but it is just a necessary component of delivering an event or program to your community. We will review samples and discuss techniques which actually apply to any expansion of activities whether fundraising or programmatic. This presentation is not limited to financial aspects.  It also examines long range thinking, bigger picture impacts and mission centricity. We will work through a sample together and you will be provided with tools you can easily implement.

Carolyn Sechler, CPA, CGMA is the CEO and founder of Sechler CPA PC, a Certified B Corporation and Arizona Benefit Corporation, in Phoenix, Arizona. She brings more than 30 years of experience to her work in tax, training /education and consulting exclusively to the nonprofit sector.

12:30pm - 2:00pm Lunch & Session 3 - Susan von Hellens – Manners for Success

Why are those less qualified chosen over you? Often the difference can be attributed to their ability to navigate the dos and don’ts of increasingly complex business etiquette. Manners Made Easy™ is a hands-on interactive workshop, whereby you will gain the understanding of how to master the new codes of contemporary international behavior to position yourself as credible, knowledgeable, cultured and authoritative.

Coaching Clients Susan von Hellens teaches CEOs, Business Owners, Executives, Celebrities, Sales People, Spouses, and Rising Stars how to interact with well-Educated, Wealthy and Successful People.  They have the tools so they are no longer unaware or feel the negative silent wall put between themselves and their clients.

2:00pm - 2:15pm Break
