A New Era, A New Way of Thinking - Reframing Your Association Business Model in a New Competitive Environment

For most of human history, access to information was limited. But in today’s digital age, the only thing in short supply is the human attention span. Modern economics is driven by how well companies capture and retain the attention of the market. Known as the “Attention Economy,” consumers are trading their attention as if it were a commodity. So, how do associations take advantage to earn the attention of their industry and/or profession? By thinking like a media company. Just like Apple, Netflix, Disney and other major players capitalize on media consumption and distribution, associations can also use them to grow engagement, generate revenue, and amplify their advantage in this new competitive landscape.

Key Takeaways:

1. Learn how to reframe your business and revenue models to compete with all of the organizations (not just other trade and professional associations) that are driving the Attention Economy of your members, prospective members and key stakeholders.

2. Learn how to create and leverage new 360 sponsorship models using all of your existing digital channels and incorporating new technologies like AI, Augmented and Virtual Reality, and the Metaverse.

3. Learn to think like a media company to control and monetize your content and brand consistently through all of your digital media channels, while creating new ones - to optimize member engagement, drive new revenue, and maintain your organization's relevance in this new competitive environment.
